Himegimi No.7: Nono a.k.a Buster Machine No. 7

30Aug07

Nono

Series: Top wo Nerae! 2
Birthday: Unknown
Seiyuu: Yukari Fukui

Biography: Discovered sleeping in a comet, Nono is an android of unknown origins. She has long, pink hair and possesses a bubbly and optimistic personality, aspiring to be a space pilot like her admired “Nonoriri”, whom she has only vague memories of. Her wish is granted when she meets Lark Mell Mare, a Topless working in FRATERNITY, an organization dedicated to defending people from the space monsters. Her surprising past is revealed slowly over the course of the TwN! 2 series, culminating in one of the more epic battles in anime history.

Why is she my Himegimi? : A perfect amalgamation of moe and mecha, Nono is likely to be the only mecha I will give himegimi status to, ever. While she is an android and is possibly one of the most powerful mecha ever constructed by human hands, she is more human than any other human, with a purity in her that is hard to match. She genuinely cares for everyone and is very single-minded in her desire to protect the ones she cares and loves the most, to the point of sacrificing her ownself to achieve that.

Himegimi No.6: Ana Coppola

30Aug07

Ana Coppola

Series: Ichigo Mashimaro
Birthday: June 18
Seiyuu: Noto Mamiko

Biography: While of British descent, Ana has been living in Japan for most of her life and follows many Japanese traditions and habits, even more than her own Japanese peers. Even so, she feels she has to keep her image as a “gaijin” intact and avoids speaking Japanese to anyone, until she is found out by Matsuri and subsequently joins in to her group of friends as well. She is usually teased for her inability to speak English, even though she is British and gets teased about her name much by Miu. She has long, blonde hair with bright blue eyes.

Why is she my himegimi? : Ana-chan would definitely grow up to be an awesome woman in the future, but that aside, her combination of elegance and obstinacy of trying to live up to her origins is a much cute characteristic to see. She is ironically the nearest to the epitome of a perfect Japanese girl despite her own British ascend and her constantly failed attempts to hide it by using broken English is always worth a big laugh to me. Definitely one of my himegimi’s.

Himegimi No.5: Fuyou Kaede

30Aug07

Fuyou Kaede

Series: SHUFFLE!
Birthday: 10th November.
Seiyuu: Gotou Yuka

Biography: If there was a list of examples of Yamato Nadeshiko, Kaede would definitely be in the list, as it’s probably as apt any a term to describe her. Her devotion to Rin (that lucky bastard) and reserved feminity makes her one of the most popular girls in her own school, to the point of having her own club, self-named the KKK (Kitto Kitto Kaede). Yet behind the delicate exterior, Kaede hides a dark secret between herself and Rin…

Why is she my himegimi? : She’s a Yamato Nadeshiko, for god’s sake. Just leave out the yandere parts in the anime, that was mostly because of other factors.

Himegimi No.4: Hiiragi Kagami

30Aug07

Hiiragi Kagami

Series: Lucky Star
Birthday: 7th July (Tanabata day)
Seiyuu: Katou Emiri

Biography: The elder of the Hiiragi twins, Kagami is a very responsible and serious person, to a point of being cynical and realistic. She has purplish, long hair and ties it in to twin tails using ribbons. She is mostly the tsukkomi character in the series, given her serious disposition, but does occasionally goes dere-dere (shy) at times, especially thanks to her best friend, Konata, who has a penchant for calling her “Kagamin~”. While she hangs out with Konata and Tsukasa a lot, a running joke in the series revolves around her inability to be in the same class as them, for the duration of their high school time.

Why is she my himegimi? : Oh, that tsukkomi-deredere combo of Kagamin really knocks me off my socks. While not actually a tsundere, there are certain hints of a… rather, deep connection between her and Konata, and their relationship is definitely laced with many a yuri overtone or two. While she acts as the tsukkomi half of her group, she can show her tender side from time to time, a main reason of why she’s my himegimi.

Himegimi No.3: Asahina Mikuru

30Aug07

Asahina Mikuru

Series: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, Suzumiya Haruhi novels.
Birthday: Unknown, from the future.
Seiyuu: Gotou Yuka

Biography: A shy and timid girl with a childish naïveté, Mikuru is as kind, caring and thoughtful as she is beautiful. She easily gets scared or flustered, more so in times whenever Haruhi is involved and makes her do embarrassing things. Apparently prone to daydreaming, she can also be rather clumsy at times. Nevertheless, she can be surprisingly resilient and is capable of recovering from even the most discomforting of situations. Her charm and radiance comes not only from her beauty, but also her cheerfulness and innocence. However, because of her gentle nature she seems rather helpless most of the time. Kyon sees it as his duty to always watch over and protect her, although, when it comes to Haruhi there is no rescue. Despite being reluctant to continue after the bunny-girl incident, where she was forced to wear a bunny-girl costume and pass out fliers on school grounds, Mikuru remains loyal and dedicated to the Brigade as well as her mission as a time-traveller. This strong resolve alone shows her inner strength.

Why is she my Himegimi? : Well, for many of the reasons listed above already. Mikuru is pretty much an embodiment of my own concept of moe. While she may seem clumsy and useless, she is basically just a normal girl thrown in to the most extraordinary circumstances, yet she still manages to remain herself, in many of her own ways. You just can’t seem to not try to protect her, just like how Kyon is.

Himegimi No.2: Tohsaka Rin

24Aug07

Tohsaka Rin

Series: Fate/stay night, Fate/hollow ataraxia, Fate/Zero.
Birthday: February 4th
Seiyuu: Kana Ueda

Biography: A model student and idol of Shir?’s school, Rin is secretly a sorceress and Master in the Holy Grail War. She is descended from a long line of sorcerers, and though lacking a formal magic education, is extremely powerful in her own right. Her father was killed in the 4th Holy Grail War, and she has trained since his death to succeed him. She is perceptive, resourceful and avidly competitive. Although she tried to summon a Saber-class Servant, she accidentally called Archer instead. (copied from Wikipedia)

Why is she my himegimi? : Ojousama-tsundere. ‘Nuff said. Without no doubt, she is one of the major moe personalities of recent times, a perfect embodiment of an ojousama tsundere without that distancing trait that many ojousama’s are apt to have. Plus, she is rumored to be bisexual, gg, and she’s the Master of one of the coolest males in the Japanese modern visual culture, Archer.

Himegimi No.1: Asuka Sohryu Langley

24Aug07

Asuka

Series: Neon Genesis Evangelion
Birthday: December 4th, 2001
Seiyuu: Miyamura Yuuko

Biography: Asuka is designated as the Second Child (”Second Children” in the Japanese versions) of the Evangelion Project and pilots the Evangelion Unit 02. Asuka is only one quarter Japanese, which accounts for her Japanese name but European appearance. Asuka is a native of Germany, having been raised there, though her nationality is technically American. Asuka’s native language is German, and she often lapses into speaking German words or phrases when she is flustered, although she speaks fluent Japanese. She is a child prodigy and has a university degree as a teenager, though it is not specified what field her degree is in. She is characterized by her fiery red hair and equally fiery temper. Asuka is very proud of being an Eva pilot, and near-constantly wears her A10 nerve clips in her hair, because she wants everyone around her to know that she is a pilot. Asuka’s iconic catch-phrase (always directed at Shinji) is “anta baka?!”.(copied from Wikipedia)

Why is she my himegimi? : Possibly one of the most influential female characters of all time, and also predecessor of tsundere-ism, Asuka has a fiery exterior which hides her inner vulnerable self, which so totally ticks off my moe meter. Plus she has long, red hair, which along with her usage of the nerve clips as hair clips gives her an illusion of having twin tails, a standard trait for tsunderes.

(Kurogane) on the way, Guncannon got obssesed with the idea of worshipping them as princesses
